Gonadorelin (GnRH)
Gonadorelin is an exact copy of a natural brain hormone that switches on the sex glands. Doctors use it to test the hormone system and to restore sperm production when the body's own hormones are lacking.
pGlu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Gly-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-NH₂ — 10 aa decapeptide. Pyroglutamate at the N-terminus. Endogenous hypothalamic hormone.
Natural regulator of the reproductive axis. Used in the diagnosis of hypogonadism (GnRH test) and in pulsatile pump therapy for hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. Meta-analysis of 41 studies, n=1673: spermatogenesis restored in 78% of patients. The pulsatile pump is more effective than gonadotropins.
Pulsatile binding to pituitary GnRH-R → ↑LH and FSH → gonadal activation: testosterone + spermatogenesis (men) / estradiol + ovulation (women). Key principle: pulses = stimulation, continuous administration = receptor desensitization = axis suppression.
In diagnostics, 100 mcg IV was used once (GnRH test), with LH measured at 0, 30, and 60 min. In pump therapy, 5–20 mcg SC every 90–120 min was used. Only under the supervision of an endocrinologist/reproductive specialist.
Level A Human clinical trials. There are randomized controlled trials (RCTs), or the compound has been approved by a regulatory agency. The most reliable level. Decades of clinical use, meta-analyses. Prescription drug.
🔴 Prescription drug. Only as prescribed by an endocrinologist / reproductive specialist. Self-treatment is unacceptable.
Research peptides are laboratory reagents (Research Use Only). They are not medicines and are not intended for use in humans or animals.
