Mazdutide (IBI362 / Emaglutide)
Mazdutide is a Chinese drug that, like survodutide, acts as both a satiety hormone and glucagon. In a Chinese study, people lost up to 17.6% of their weight in a year.
29 amino acids, a dual GLP-1/glucagon agonist based on oxyntomodulin with an optimized fatty acid. Structurally similar to survodutide.
Chinese Phase III GLORY-1 (JAMA, n=610): −14.4% (6 mg) and −17.6% (9 mg) over 48 weeks. The first dual incretin agonist to complete Phase III. A registration application has been filed in China.
GLP-1R + glucagon R — similar to survodutide: ↓appetite + ↑β-oxidation of liver fat + ↑thermogenesis.
Studies used titration 3 → 4.5 → 6 → 9 mg/week SC. Optimum: 6–9 mg. Course: 48 weeks.
Level A Human clinical trials. There are randomized controlled trials (RCTs), or the compound has been approved by a regulatory agency. The most reliable level. Phase III (JAMA). Registration in China expected in 2026.
Honest caveat: Not approved outside China. All data are from the Chinese population. There are no comparative RCTs with semaglutide. In studies it was not combined with other GLP-1 agonists.
