Pinealon (EDR / Glu-Asp-Arg)
Pinealon is a very short peptide of three amino acids, a brain bioregulator from Khavinson's school. It is studied as a way to support nerve cells in age-related memory decline, sleep disorders, and after head injuries.
Glu-Asp-Arg — 3 aa, a tripeptide. An analog of Cerluten (AEDR) from Khavinson's bioregulators. A peptide bioregulator of the brain. ~417 Da.
A neuroprotective brain bioregulator from Khavinson (Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology). Used to improve cognitive function in age-related changes and sleep disorders, and for recovery after TBI. ↑neuron viability, ↓free radicals.
The EDR tripeptide interacts with promoter regions of neuronal DNA → ↑expression of neuroprotective genes (BDNF, NGF, SOD). ↑PCNA (proliferation of neuronal progenitors). ↓oxidative stress in the CNS. Possible regulation via melatonin pathways (link to the pineal gland).
Studies used 10 mg IM once a day for a 10-day course; repeat courses 2-3 times/year. An alternative option was 5-10 mg SC.
Level C-D Animal studies. Effects have been shown in animals. Whether they carry over to humans has not been proven. Preclinical data and Khavinson's reviews. No clinical data.
⚠️ No direct RCTs. The evidence base comes from Khavinson's Russian laboratory. Research only.
Research peptides are laboratory reagents (Research Use Only). They are not medicines and are not intended for use in humans or animals.
