Pinealon (Glu-Asp-Arg)
Pinealon is a peptide of three amino acids developed in St. Petersburg to support the brain. It is studied as a protector of nerve cells in memory and sleep problems and during recovery from head injuries.
Glu-Asp-Arg — 3 aa, a brain neuropeptide. Analog of Cerluten (AEDR). IBG RAS. ~417 Da.
Neuroprotective brain bioregulator. ↑Neuronal viability, ↓free radicals. Used in cognitive impairment, sleep disorders, and recovery after TBI. Linked to regulation of the pineal gland.
Epigenetic activation of neurons → ↑BDNF, ↑NGF, ↑SOD. ↑PCNA (neuronal progenitors). Possible regulation via melatonin pathways.
Studies used 10 mg IM once a day for 10 days; 2–3 courses a year.
Level C-D Animal studies. Effects have been shown in animals. Whether they carry over to humans has not been proven.
