AOD-9604

AOD-9604 (Fragment 176-191)

In simple words

AOD-9604 is a piece of the growth hormone molecule that was studied as a fat-burning agent with no effect on growth. A large human study showed no notable advantage over placebo.

What this molecule is

YLRIVQCRSVEGSCGF — 16 aa, hGH fragment, positions 176-191. ~1817 Da.

Why it is studied

Lipolytic GH fragment without growth effects. One human study (oral). Phase 2b failed in 2007 (536 people) — no significant superiority over placebo was shown. Used as an add-on to GLP-1.

How it works

↑β3-adrenergic receptors → ↑HSL → ↑lipolysis. ↓Acetyl-CoA carboxylase → ↓lipogenesis. Does not affect GH receptors, IGF-1, or glucose.

Doses used in studies

In practice, 250–300 mcg SC was used in the morning on an empty stomach for 8–12 weeks (practice, not validated).

Combined with in studies

  • CJC-1295/Mod-GRF — different mechanisms
  • L-Carnitine
  • GLP-1 agonists — additional lipolysis

Level of evidence

Level B-C Human observational data. There are studies in humans, but they are small, uncontrolled, or cohort studies. The data are encouraging but need confirmation.

Important to know

🔴 Phase 2b failed (536 people, 2007). WADA ban S0 (2022). Almost no clinical data. Research only.
